4 Massive Reggae, Ska & 2 Tone Bands. Soul Pressure Sound System, plus special guest DJ Trevor Evans. Also a special slot with Roddy Byers. So what is The Warm Up & Ska Soup II?
Ska Soup emerged in 2012 to showcase new up and coming bands in Coventry, the home of Ska/2 Tone in the UK. The event found many talented musicians. I thought they needed to be heard by a wider audience’ says Ska Soup founder Rich Lock. Like so many people today Rich himself had gone through a bad patch in his life and Ska music, his first love helped him back on track. He wanted to give something back and so Ska Soup was born. The charity Shelter was chosen as so many families are struggling today to make ends meet and losing their homes through no fault of their own. This also made a link to the old ‘Soup Kitchens’ as they were known of days gone by where homeless would be fed. Following the success of Ska Soup in 2013 it was decided to start a non-profit promotions company called ‘Ska Sixty Nine Promotions’ which would run Ska Soup events. The 18 members on the promotions team all giving their time for free and gladly paying for their own tickets to attend these events are doing a fantastic job. So please come and join us for what promises to be a great night at the ‘The Warm Up’, The Tunnels, Bristol. You’re sure to have a ‘SOUPER’ time and help raise money for the chosen charity Shelter. The BlakFlamez Known as The Kings Of Ska are Bristol’s Premier SKA Band. Blending SKA, Soul and Reggae and drawing in over 20 years of experience, being one of the pioneers of the Bristol reggae/ska explosion on the Shock Waves label, during the 90's they won various music awards, wrote and performed soundtracks with some of the biggest stars of film and TV and still play those songs today along with new original material, people come and go but the BlakFlamez still burn bright. www.facebook.com/BlakFlamez

Little Baby Cheeses An original skankrock™ band from Yorkshire. The brainchild of experienced songwriter Colin Miles (voice/melodica/monotron), ‘The Cheeses’ as they are affectionately known were born in 2006. Following a particularly creative ‘purple patch’, Colin realised he needed to put together a band to bring his new songs to life. The sound that would later be dubbed skankrock™ was forged over 50+ gigs with help from Joe Herzberg (drums), Matt Ferguson (guitar/vocals), Offbeat rhythms, spacious bass, crunching chords, with Melodica blasts and Monotron bleeps, the cheeses’ inventive sound serves the infectious, original songwriting. Along their way, little baby cheeses have shared the bill with, among others, New Town Kings, The Beat, The Toasters, The Hopper Ward, Becks and the Bullets, The Olive Branch, This is Seb Clarke, and Biscuit Head & The Biscuit Badgers. www.littlebabycheesesband.co.uk www.facebook.com/pages/Little-Baby-Cheeses/267821286624809 Bring Along A Tin Of Soup And Support Our Cause And Have A Souper Time.
