More information about Nick Harper tickets
Since first picking up a guitar at the tender age of ten, Nick Harper has enjoyed a fascinating and fruitful musical career. His 1995 debut album ‘Seed’ led to a chance meeting with Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook… who not only signed Nick to his own record label Quixotic, but also pressed him into service as Squeeze guitarist throughout most of the late 1990s!
In the meantime, Nick was forging his own identity as a political singer-songwriter of extraordinary power and dexterity. His 2006 album Treasure Island contained scathing attacks on the George W Bush administration, as well as delving deeper into some fascinating corners of British history. The album's title track was inspired by an obscure Liverpudlian philanthropist who employed destitute men returning from the Napoleonic Wars to dig tunnels… for no other reason than to give them something to do.
Follow-up albums Miracles for Beginners, The Last Guitar and Riven have had the critics drooling, with Nick’s virtuoso acoustic guitar playing coming in for particular praise. This intimate acoustic show will take place in ARC’s 100-seater studio thaetre, so our advice is don’t leave it too late to bag your ticket!
