More information about Grainne Duffy tickets
When Grainne Duffy appeared at the Club last year, she knocked the audience dead! An Irish singer-songwriter from Co. Monaghan, Ireland, Gráinne Duffy is a unique talent - raw and powerful, edgy and elegant. Her wonderful mix of blues rock and soul in her original material and her treatment of a few carefully selected standards is charged with true emotion and feeling that can win over any audience and leave them begging for more. Apart from a heavy schedule of touring and Fesitvals, including Glastonbury, during 2012 she recorded a track 'Get Here' for the BBC promotion campaign which was aired over the Summer on BBC1 and 2, and she also appeared on RTE's (Irish National TV) in their Other Voices music programme. Gráinne’s sound has been compared to Bonnie Raitt whom she lists as an influence, and Joss Stone.
Grainne was described as "phenomenal" at the recent Cornucopia Festival. The Youtube link of part of her set is http://youtube/0PH9bhk6Cwk. Paul Mansell from Marlow FM was at the show and said: "she 'stole the show' as far as I'm concerned and I think the rest of the audience would agree considering the standing ovation they gave the band." All Access Magazine described her music as a "powerhouse of soul and inspiration mixed with desire and passion". Henry Yates of Classic Rock magazine stated ‘In a world of chic rockers Duffy is the real deal’; and The Sunday cites her as being 'the spiritual heir to Rory Gallagher, an Irish blues singer of real integrity''. Gráinne is backed by a stellar band of bass, drums, guitars and keyboards. www.grainneduffy.com.
