Promoting the release of the new album Dylan Howe - Subterranean (Motorik Recordings MR1004).

Following on from DH’s successful Kickstarter campaign of November ’13 (where over £10K was raised in a month), this is the tour to promote the new record. The response to the campaign was overwhelming, with hundreds of people pledging and sharing the links, videos and tracks with an unprecedented amount of prerelease sales already. This tour looks to be Howe’s most successful yet.

“I can’t wait to be able to finally tour this finished record with this great new band - especially after the result and support of the Kickstarter campaign. Also, following on from all my recent work with Roger and Wilko, getting back into the cockpit with my own group to play this intense and exciting music is a real landmark for me - I’m looking forward to it so much.” DH

Dylan Howe - drums
Dave Whitford - double bass
Ross Stanley - piano
Steve Lodder - synthesisers
Andy Sheppard - tenor saxophone

Recent reviews: ★★★★ UNCUT, MOJO, TIMES, GUARDIAN, INDEPENDENT, JAZZWISE, BLUES & SOUL 'We’re loving it here.’ davidbowie.com 'A beguiling jazz rethink of Berlin-era Bowie. 8/10.’ Uncut - Also featured in Uncut’s Top 20 Best Albums of 2014 ‘So majestic…scuffling in musical corners only hinted at in Bowie’s originals.’ Mojo ‘A warm, contemplative treat, subtle, cinematic…The painterly atmosphere is conjured by creative electronics and elegant arrangements. A warm tribute to Bowie, but a jazz album too, Subterranean offers plenty to fans from both constituencies.' John Fordham. The Guardian Brooding intensity is mixed with fluid jazz passages and the ghost of John Coltrane dances through Warszawa. It’s an imaginative take on defiantly timeless music.’ John Bungey. The Times ‘Daring, very daring. Jazz and rock seldom meet on equal terms, so the drummer deserves all the credit for these imaginative reworkings of the Thin White Duke’s most enigmatic period. When the arrangements stay true to the spirit of Eno and Bowie’s fog-bound originals, they surpass them, the wash of synths and saxophone sketching a ghostly new landscape.’ Clive Davis – Sunday Times 'Succeeds in living up to the source material... subtle reinvention and imaginative twists.’ The Independent ‘Probably one of the UK’s most important and vital drummers..."Subterranean" is an audacious and astounding piece of work that should be in every music collection - a real triumph.' Blues & Soul ‘A splendid recording - gorgeously intimate…A project for which he deserves huge credit.” Jazzwise The results are quite superb...Subterranean will stand as the album that brings jazz and Bowie together - and does so in splendid style...highly inventive...ethereal beauty.’ All About Jazz ‘An exquisite take on Bowie’s late 70s largely instrumental collaborations with Brian Eno. Subterranean possibly glimpses how Coltrane may have interpreted Bowie. Howe combines a great concept, a superb band and his own significant talents as a drummer and arranger to deliver his best album to date.’ Drummer Magazine + A specially made film will be projected during the concert
