We are very pleased to announce the addition of the Celtic crackerjack Roddy Woomble to the Bristol Folk Festival 2014 line-up!

Roddy Woomble has already built quite the reputation during his solo career. Having worked with the likes of Andy Cutting, Kate Rusby, Karine Polwart and producer John McCusker, his debut album My Secret Is My Silence spent several weeks at no.1 in the UK Folk Charts.

The Scottish singer-songwriter is of course famed for his acclaimed work with indie-rock collective Idlewild, with whom he released 17 charting singles and 6 charting albums - two of which went silver, and one of which, The Remote Part, went gold.

In the past decade, he has done an exceptional amount for the folk scene. Besides collaborating with countless top musicians, both on the the live circuit and in the studio, he has fostered numerous projects that have brought singers, bands, poets and writers together to celebrate the quality and value of traditional British music.

Needless to say, we are really rather excited to welcome him to BFF in May for what is shaping up to be the folk music event of the year!
